After almost 10 years of hard work, Reach Visuals is one of the most sought after vj-collectives in the world.
Founding father and graphic designer Andy Godschalk is the big man behind Reach Visuals. His vision, skills and energy make sure that people are still amazed with Reach’s contemporary productions. Remko Catersels is the technician of Reach Visuals and Ronald Lander is a multi-media talent specialised in interactive visuals, graduated at the Willem the Kooning Academy of Arts in Rotterdam, NL.
They’ve already performed in clubs and festivals across the globe; clubs such as Now&Wow, Nighttown, Off Corso, Escape, Melkweg(The Netherlands),Cocoon Club, Maria am Ostbahnhof(Germany) and festivals like SonneMondSterne, Green&Blue (Germany) and Klubbersday (Spain) to name a few.
Clubbers around the world demand a full audiovisual experience these days and Reach Visuals achieves this by using self-shot video footage projects, computer animated 2D and 3D graphics and visual effects.
Integrating contrasting material from sources as diverse as industry, architecture and nature to form a synergetic whole with up-tempo technological music during their energetic live performances.
Reach Visuals consists of Remko Catersels, Ronald Lander and Andy Godschalk.
Reach Visuals was founded in 1999 by Andy Godschalk, an artist and designer from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
After a two-year period working with Dutch artist’s collective ‘Barkode’ Andy had a strong desire to make his own independent productions and to define his own style and thus Reach Visuals was formed. After several months Remko Catersels computer and technical expert joined Reach Visuals. This guy is a real freak with technology, his favorite quote is “If you don't know how it works or know how to fix it when it’s broken then you have no business in using it.
In 2007 Ronald Lander joined Reach Visuals He’s a talented multi media designer, graduated at the Willem the Kooning Academy with an awesome live interactive video installation.(www.drift.in)
Reach Visuals uses self-shot video footage projects, computer animated samples and integrates contrasting material from sources as diverse as industry, architecture and nature to form a synergetic whole with up-tempo technological music during his energetic live performances.“Holland is a small country and our nature, industry and commerce are all in very close proximity to each other - sometimes on top of each other. I guess my style reflects the environment in which I find myself - only it’s my interpretation of what I see around me - my vision,” states Andy. This definable style has led to Reach Visuals performing at avant-garde clubs such as ‘Off_Corso’ and ‘Now and Wow’ in Rotterdam and the seminal ‘Melkweg’ in Amsterdam as well as at large outdoor events such as the Heineken ‘Fast Forward’ Dance Parade with upwards of 400,000 visitors in Rotterdam in the year 2003.
Reach Visuals was resident vj of a succesfull event named “ON” from 2002 until 2004. The event was hosted by Sound Architecture, Rotterdam and Silly Symphonies, The Hague.
Reach Visuals performed together with some famous dj’s of the world for example Sven Väth, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson and the new Dutch techno dj/producer Joris Voorn to name a few.
